Hello, I’m Dr. Phil Iffland. Thank you for visiting my website.
By way of introduction, I’ve been a resident of the Northeastern Ohio area for my entire life. I attended Cuyahoga Falls High School, the University of Akron, where I received my Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Biology/Physiology, and Case Western Reserve University, graduating in 1982 and earning the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery.
I was a senior clinical instructor from 1989 to 2001 as a member of the part-time faculty at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.
I’ve been in the private practice of general dentistry for 34 years and have extensive clinical experience in all phases of restorative dentistry, delivering comfortable and clinically excellent care to my extensive family of adult and child patients. I enjoy complex and challenging cases, interacting with specialists and patients, and serving as a liaison/teacher for my patients to develop well-thought, highly functional, and esthetically pleasing treatment plans.
I like to listen to patient concerns and to answer questions in detail, frequently illustrating solutions on drawing boards in each treatment room. My patients often become friends, and my personal style is detail-oriented, yet relaxed and informal. I love a good joke, a good laugh and sharing good recipes.
I enjoy workouts at the gym, fishing, boating, cooking—I have a kitchen in my office and often cook dinner through the workday—classical music, golf, and target shooting. I hold Master ranks in Japanese (Kwanmukan) and Korean (Tae Kwon Do) karate systems, as well as first degree black belts in Judo and Kobudo. I am also a member of American Mensa.
My wife Karyn and I reside in Jackson Township and have two sons, Philip II (Ph.D., neuroscience), and William a recent graduate of Brown University, and our two wild but lovable French bulldogs, Tasha and Tru.
I look forward to welcoming you into my practice in person.
With every good wish,
